For our Global Procurement Category Management team in Madrid, we are searching for a Global Procurement Category Lead – Real Estate, Travel & Internal Events, who will report into the Procurement Partner Global Workplace. The role: We have built a Cost Category Management Office (CCMO) based in Madrid, focusing on multi-functional cost categories (Fleet & Travel, Facility Management and Corporate Real Estate) with the primary objective to deliver cost optimization targets for PMI’s. Your primary role would be to support PMI Procurement organization on the assigned categories and markets liaising mainly with CCMO Head of Real Estate and the CCMO Head of Travel, who are based in Madrid. By collaborating with them, while also interacting with Regional and Market colleagues to understand current and anticipated sourcing demand or needs you will help to achieve PMI objectives by performing highly complex Global sourcing activities and strategic category management. Your day-to-day: • Act as a subject-matter guide, helping to set the procurement agenda of the defined category portfolio, developing and deploying Global Strategic plans by interacting with key collaborators, analysing category data and metrics to deliver end-to-end category management practices in line with overall functional strategies. • Liaise with CCMO to understand their strategies, elaborate and develop Procurement Strategy accordingly. • Liaise with Regional Procurement / markets to develop sourcing or project strategies. • Coordinate or support contract negotiations of medium to high complexity or criticality with Legal, Business and Procurement Account / Category Management to ensure legal requirements are met and the contract is signed within agreed timelines. • Consistently assess market conditions and stay up to date on market trends and indicators. Based on consolidated market intelligence provide insights and continuous improvement recommendations to the supported categories that enable PMI to achieve its goals. • Independently own the support to assigned categories in terms of deployment of local sourcing activities, and development and implementation of improvement initiatives. • Implement or support sourcing ad bidding process of high complexity with significant exposure to timely select the best possible offer which meets internal customers' requirement. • Develop dotted-line remote sourcing team that provides support to the Categories. Who we're looking for: • 5+ years of experience in global procurement within international and multi-cultural organisations, with 3+ years of experience in the related categories (Real Estate, Travel, Internal Events) • Experienced in asset acquisition or disposal, and real estate contracts in general. • Experience in handling travel management vendors/companies, online booking tools and internal events contracts is advantageous. • Knowledge of trends in the relevant industry sectors and the marketplaces for services, including experience with translating trends and needs into compelling strategies that help to achieve the company’s long-term objectives. • Validated experience building effective internal and external partner relationships that yield long-term value. • Deep understanding of pricing and pricing models in different global geographies/markets. • Experience crafting complex business rationales, financial models, projections and metrics. • Critical thinking, strong analytical skills and advanced negotiation skills. You combine creative thinking and factual analysis to develop, plan and complete strategies in close collaboration with senior business partners. • Native or fluent speaking in English (minimum C1).
