Purpose of the role - Execute best in class global tax accounting & reporting processes to drive proper management of PMI’s global effective tax rate and fit with PMI’s global tax strategies - Ensure the US tax impacts related to PMI’s foreign operations (GILTI, Subpart F) and FDII, BEAT, 163(j), etc. are properly reflected in PMI’s global tax provision / effective tax rate Key responsibilities International Tax Accounting - Responsible for US tax calculations related to PMI’s foreign operations (GILTI, Subpart F) and FDII, BEAT, 163(j), etc., in close coordination with Manager Global Tax Accounting & COE, Head of US Tax Accounting & Reporting, and other team members - Responsible for first level review of PMI’s global income tax provision and effective tax rate models prepared during interim periods and yearend - Lead coordination of the various Global Tax Accounting workstreams to ensure timely delivery of quarterly and annual reporting deliverables - Prepare technical tax accounting memos to support PMI’s financial statement positions with respect to material transactions such as acquisitions, legal entity restructurings, etc. - Manage the income tax disclosures included in PMI's quarterly and annual reports in accordance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements – in coordination with the Controller Global Tax Accounting & Reporting - Lead public reporting initiatives around tax transparency and sustainability, including PMI’s Integrated Report - Keep abreast of the international tax landscape, identify impact of key legislative changes, including Pillar Two legislation in coordination with Head International Tax Reporting - Support members of PMI Tax on technical international tax accounting questions related to transactions and provide ad hoc assistance where required Tax Compliance - Provide annual international tax compliance support (e.g., Forms 5471, 8990-3, etc.) to ensure tax return positions are properly reflected and return-to-provision true-up adjustments are properly recorded - Provide support to Tax Compliance and Audits team for quarterly US federal and state estimated tax payments Tax Controversy & Risk Management - Provide support to Tax Compliance and Audits team in responding to IRS information requests and other audit related inquiries - Research and document US tax issues associated with key transactions, with inputs from US Tax, Subject Matter Experts and external advisors Desired profile - Graduate degree in Business or Finance, Certified Public Accountant or equivalent, with at least 15 years experience, and strong track record of handling complex tax matters, in a multinational group and/or public accounting firm and matrix-reporting environment - Strong influencing and collaboration skills; able to drive alignment among teams within and across organizational boundaries - High performer with future leadership potential, strategic planning capabilities to address PMI’s priorities and goals - An excellent strategic thinker; ability to assess the internal and external landscape and identify solutions to strategic goals - Strong business acumen, with a deep understanding of PMI’s end transformational goals, and related impact on tax strategy - Ability to explain complex tax issues in a clear and concise manner to non-tax colleagues Expected salary range: $230,000.00 - $310,000.00 per year, varies based on experience, along with comprehensive benefits package that includes bonus and 401k. #LI-HYBRID
