You will be employed under Philip Morris Asia Limited (PMAL), PMI’s affiliate in Hong Kong Your ‘day to day’ • You will report to the Tax Manager, you will prepare and assist in handling tax matters, tax processes, tax compliance in the respective affiliates in efficient and effective manner • Ensure policies, controls and risk management practices are effectively implemented consistently across the affiliates of PMI, and handle key tax exposures in conjunction with the Tax Manager • Support the Tax Manager in delivering tax-related decision, with PMI Tax subject matter experts (SMEs) inputs, to key cross functional team members across the organization. Tax Compliance • To prepare and solve any tax matters for our affiliates. Perform and handle tax filings, tax reporting, and direct and indirect tax compliance • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax fillings obligations. Ensure timely payment and/or refund of all tax obligations • Continuous streamlining of the tax processes to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. Risk and exposure mitigation • Assist in handling local markets tax positions, tax audits and tax litigation and ensure communication within global/ regional and local Finance management. Work closely with the Tax Manager in any tax issues for respective affiliates of PMI. • Support risk preventive management and risk mitigation on our regional affiliate • Ensure policies, controls and risk management practices effectively implemented consistently in the respective affiliates of PMI. • Support the Tax Manager in providing tax advisory and trainings to respective teams in the organization to assure proper tax risk mitigation. Project • Support regional market initiatives for Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau & China • Tax-related decision support • In conjunction with other PMI SMEs, support the Tax Manger in delivering tax-related advisory and decision support, with SME inputs, to key stakeholders across PMI, at Headquarter, region and affiliate levels. Who we’re looking for • University degree in quantitative fields: Accounting, Tax, Finance or related degree • At least 5 years of experience of handling tax matters in a multinational group and/or Big 4 accounting firms • Prior knowledge of tax accounting rules, as well as international tax regulations, coupled with a strong eye for business • Highly organized, detail-oriented analyst with ability to multitask • Good communication and collaboration skills; excellent team player • Good command of written and oral English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin); Proficiency in MS excel, experience in SAP is a plus What we offer Our success depends on our talents who come to work here every day with a sense of purpose and an appetite for progress.
