Your ‘day to day’ • Responsible of managing and deploying an effective external affairs strategy for Philip Morris Malaysia. This includes managing and mobilizing various internal and external stakeholders in the quest to pursue our smokefree vision. • Lead the policy analysis and external communication efforts related to regulatory, fiscal, illicit trade and scientific domains to uplift these topics in the political agenda and public discourse. • Support the deployment of regulatory and fiscal strategies for the Malaysian affiliate. Key Activities • To support in advocating for conducive regulatory and fiscal environment for existing and new products and meeting the Company's objectives • Support the Head of Government Affairs and Heads of Regulatory/ Fiscal Affairs in Malaysia by preparing position papers and presentations, which will be given to the key stakeholders or high-level members in top associations. In order to prepare these papers/presentations, the person should be knowledgeable on not only External Affairs (EA) related business issues but also should be knowledgeable on how to deliver the message while maximizing the company benefit. • Identify and track regulatory trends and development in the world that affect the industry and the Company. • Maintain contact with PMI/Asia Regional HQ (RHQ)Regulatory Affairs to stay up to date on emerging issues worldwide and PMI strategies and positions in addressing or managing these issues as well as to identify best practices. • To support EA advocacy activities in preparing engagement materials, talking points, presentation materials for meetings, organizing events and logistical supports and in preparing high-quality briefing materials for political audiences • Lead research relevant to policy making relevant to the PMI business • Assist to develop briefing documents/presentations reflecting the Company’s position and proposed amendments for use in Government and Stakeholder engagement efforts aimed at securing a predictable environment for the Business. Requirements • Minimum 5 years’ experience in public/private sectors (MNC environment) • Good knowledge of national legislative, political, and regulatory structure, framework and processes is required. • Solid grasp in numbers and experience in policy writing preferred. • Experience in Corporate Affairs, media and civil society relations is preferred. • Bachelors or Masters/ Educational background in Policy Affairs preferred. • Team player and collaborative skills. • Agile Mindset.
