Purpose: Lead the development and implementation of integrated External Affairs (EA) strategies for PMI in Pakistan, to obtain regulatory stability, predictability and level playing field, for business growth in both commercial and operations areas of the business. Monitor the political environment, anticipate lega Be fully familiar with and understand the background of the tobacl and political changes, develop regulatory submissions reflecting PMI's positions on issues relevant to the business environment of the company. Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholder including regulators, media, business associations and NGO’s. Partner the business functions and liaise regularly with them when developing and executing on EA strategies. Your ‘day to day’: - General: co regulatory framework in Pakistan, to develop regulatory strategies. Monitor and study the activities of the regulators and other stakeholders on industry issues, such that PMI remains informed of significant happenings and thinking, and to be able to pre-empt future legislative or regulatory action by providing information and through other influence strategies. Provide expertise, knowledge, and advice to the management on current and emerging industry issues and the evolution of societal expectations, especially as pertains to new and emerging products in the PMI portfolio, to increase understanding on how these issues impact the overall business strategy, to support the development of appropriate business strategies for long-term growth. Actively contribute to creation and implementation of cluster EA strategy, as leading EA for biggest affiliate in the cluster. -Regulatory & Fiscal Affairs: Work with centers of expertise to develop and execute fiscal and regulatory strategies integrated in a comprehensive regulatory framework in Pakistan to respond to business needs while ensuring the long-term level-playing field. Developing engagement activities and opportunities with Government authorities to secure the development of local legislation aiming at establishment of effective and predictable fiscal and regulatory framework to achieve Company's business objectives. -Communication & Stakeholder Management: In collaboration with the cluster Communication team, contribute to the development and execution of external communications strategies for Pakistan, to support our business initiatives and priorities including regulatory and fiscal strategies. Plan and contribute to the implementation of communication initiatives that support our business and address the societal awareness of reduced risk products and harm reduction concept, as well as societal acceptance of PMI science in Pakistan. Further enhance the company image, improve societal perception of PM activities and employees, thus strengthening the company's overall positive reputation in the society. -Consultancy to Management: Provide the management team with timely in-house consultancy on any relevant external developments with the potential to have an impact on the business in Pakistan. Assist the management in decision making by providing them with analysis on regular basis. Act as a spokesperson in representing business functions and their needs in relevant external regulatory/governmental engagements in Pakistan. -Organization & People Development: Provide External affairs expertise to the organization and coach team members in engagement activities. Who we’re looking for: Education and Experience • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, public relations, corporate communications, or relevant degree. • 12-14 years of overall external affairs experience, consisting of a balance of government relations, fiscal affairs, regulatory affairs, or experience in Communications, Public Relations, Public and/or Corporate Affairs. • Specific Experience: Proven records in a position with the government/business association/large national or multinational FMCG company working in corporate affairs or similar function. • Be able to work cross-functionally and build relationships inside and outside of the organization. • Strong communication and presentation skills using various tools to deliver messages. • Experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex information in an easy-to-understand manner; able to deliver message effectively verbally and in writing. • Language skills: Fluent in English & Urdu.
